My team at Phase2 was tasked with maintaining and migrating five separate but similar Drupal 7 sites with five separate but similar-ish themes to one Drupal 8 site that could support the varying business needs the five had covered previously.

I architected a design system based on Pattern Lab to suit the wide range of styles needed across brand properties with minimal code.

Certain theme-level choices were connected to CMS fields so that admins could update site or section-specific color schemes without needing a code change in the future.
